insurance and Payment
At Excel Dental, we are primarily an out-of-network or “fee-for-service” dental-care provider. This allows us to charge a fair, fixed rate for procedures rather than having to apply extra fees required by third-party insurance companies.
Whatever your situation and budget, we are dedicated to providing you with straightforward estimates and helping you navigate any financial obstacles you may be facing.
However, we also accept most dental (PPO) insurance. If you have any concerns, you are always welcome into our dental office, and we can check your benefits for you!
Meet the doctors
Dr. Vivian Huynh graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. She later obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine where she graduated with high honors. Dr. Huynh’s passion in dentistry stemmed from her artistic abilities and compassionate care for treating her patients. She treats all her patients as if they were her family members, creating smiles with a gentle and thoughtful approach. She has worked with numerous communities by providing dental services at various local health care events in SoCal.
Recently this year, Dr. Vivian had just returned from a Mission trip providing dental care to the rural villages in central Vietnam! Her scope of expertise lies within Invisalign, Oral Sedation, Implant Surgery, and Cosmetic Dentistry. Currently, Dr. Vivian continues to take CE courses to broaden her scope of knowledge and skill in order to provide the utmost care all our patients deserve.
A favorite hobby of hers is to explore various authentic restaurants of different ethnic groups. Besides, it is very hard to say no to good food! In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as traveling, hiking, tennis, and participating in various water sports.
Dr. Brian Luong, a San Diego native, graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in General Biology. He later obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Luong prides himself on the ability to help people. His venture towards dentistry stemmed from his involvement with the UC San Diego Pre-Dental Society where he help provide access to dental care for the communities within San Diego. His involvement onboard the USNS Mercy broaden his scope of dentistry and was one of his most memorable dental experiences in improving foreign relations between the United States and partnering nations.
During his free time, Dr. Luong enjoys spending time with family and friends. He loves fishing, scuba diving, skiing & snowboarding, and many other activities during his free time. However, his newest activity has been playing with his 6 month old Maltese, Forrest! Hopefully you get to see him once a while at the office!
Dr. Jennifer Trang Xa graduated from Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. With over 20 years of dental experience, she prides herself in providing exceptional dental care to all of her patients of all ages.
Her career in dentistry started way before USC, where she obtained her dental license in Vietnam. Having graduated as one of the youngest dentist in Vietnam, she started her career prior to coming to the United States. She later came to the United States and further advanced her dental education at USC. Since then, she has been in private practice focusing on all types of dental treatments to better improvement her patient’s oral care.
During her free time, Dr. Xa enjoys spending time with her family. She enjoys traveling as well. Her most recent trip was to Vietnam where she help provide access to dental care for the many villages within the central regions.
